Where did the time go? Cannot believe it has been one year since I packed up and moved way up north to be with the vikings! It has been one helluva roller coaster year for me buuuut this post is not going to be about that no! I have had a number of people ask me via social media ‘What is it like living in Norway?’ What is Norway like? I have considered to moving to Norway but do not…
I got to see my sister Solange live earlier this year and it was superb…as expected! The spirit of excellence definitely runs in the family! She was the headliner at Piknik i parken (Picnic in the park). It rained the whole day but we came prepared rain coats and all. Solange is art and art is Solange. I think that sums it all up. Everything was in sync, sound, voice and her expressive dance moves. Her dancer’s moves were choreographed…
Heigh ho! heigh ho! us 19 were off to climb Bessegen last Saturday and man oh man that was one adventure for this city girl! Going on hikes is a very very very Norwegian thing to do… Norwegians are outdoorsy! I think Nigerians are too…in a roof top bar, pool, pent house club, roof top spa typa way…hahaha! We joined the trip with 17 other people from Oslo up to Vågå Oppland in Norway. The drive from the city took about…
Yep… that’s me! Signed sealed and delivered. February, July and August will never be the same again. Getting married was a lot of fun…Stressful with the planning but so much fun we did it three times…haha :p cause third times a charm right? We had the civil, traditional Nigerian and christian ceremony over those three months respectively. For the civil ceremony like almost everyone else we had close family go with us to sign those papers and a cozy dinner afterwards…We…
The weather last Saturday was perfect and in Norway that almost always calls for a hike or as they say ‘å gå på tur’ I went on my first hike adventure since moving up here and it was fun. Mostly because we got lost in the forest…here is a little story of how it went…Norwegians are very ‘out-doorsey’ – I have heard this many times before and after I moved and it is certainly no cliché. As a city girl… ‘my…
Spent my weekend on a group cabin trip to the mountains…Specifically Monsetertoppen in Hafjell… The nature up there was breathtaking. Freezing temperatures but beautiful snow capped views and a pleasant group made it all worth it… Did not attempt skiing or snow boarding though…I wasn’t reaaaaddyyyy (financially too, haha), went for short hikes with plans in my head for snowboarding the next time I go up there! Going on cabin trips to the mountains also known as ‘Hyttetur’ in norwegian is a…
Joined on a trip to Donut Heaven on Sunday with some heavy donut addicts to a pop-up donut store called Fryd (Oslo’s original donuts). The lines were long and the people in it scared the donuts will run out before their turn, and I was there curiously wondering as per usual… 562 donuts were sold off in an hour, there was also a limit to the amount of donuts each person could buy to ensure there was enough to go round… talk…
Been a loooong minute since I wrote here! Life got busy! In the midst of it all I made the final move, and settling in has been a mix of emotions. Oslo has been good to me so far… nothing compares to being where your heart is sooo … muchos grateful 🙂 So far we have had no snow in December and have been to a christmas market at the Norske Folkemuseum. If you have ever wondered what Norwegians lived like…
