I am still changing…

I am not the same person I was 5 years ago. I have changed a whole lot. Life and what I have experienced in 5 years have changed me.

Is there a choice at the root of change…absolute yes! Things happen that cause us to give life a different look. We pause, review, we learn new things about life, our journey and discover things about ourselves. To move on from where we are, we have to make a choice to stay the same people or change. We must understand that almost every time changing will involve having to drop things and people.

Things that belong to or support the idea of whatever it is you have decided to drop, to leave behind… You look into your future and see no room for them. So you make a change! Like a ship on a journey that runs into dark stormy weather along its course. You stop and rejig your original course in order to make it to your destination. If it takes throwing some things off the ship in order to move forward and make it through that storm you would up on the deck with your sleeves rolled back and ready now won’t you?

I am changing! I am not the same person I was 5 years ago and that is perfectly ok! I will hold on to some old friends, make new friends, and drop some…will take on new daring experiences and challenges, perhaps move to a new neighbourhood… I might even decide to walk and talk different…lol. My life is my journey…It is my story and whilst I believe in an author I at the same time believe I have a hand in what scribbles on my next page.

To live is to change…this is my original quote! Like totally just dropped in my head now..Someone else might have said it before but i actually really just said it too  :p … Yes to live is to change… Life’s a journey made up of experiences… to enjoy it,  you kind of have to be open to new experiences and things.

You changed from a baby, to a toddler, to a teenager, a young adult and an adult. Your person has to be changing with. It is natural…Do not be afraid to choose to change! Do not be bullied into maintaining the status quo or sticking to the stuff you know. ok that one is from High School Musical. 😀

Next time when someone says… ‘You have changed, you are not the same xyz I used to know’… Don’t try to explain yourself, they simply cannot reconcile how you have become who you are now… you owe them no explanation, they have not ben through what you went through or experienced whatever it is that made you decide to make a change in your life.

… Just smile and say thank you for the compliment…

You are changing, You are living!
